Few stories in the music world are as bitter and unusual as the creation of MC Ciccone, the alter-ego of Martin Ciccone. Ciccone is the older brother of megastar Madonna, a hard-partying bad boy who found himself getting in progressively bad situations as his habits began getting out of control. After an embarrassing cameo in Madonna's #Truth or Dare documentary in 1991, Ciccone began to publicly speak about his bitterness toward his sister, claiming he lived in her shadow. The singer failed to respond to his comments, but when she refused his requests for bail money after a 1994 arrest, the situation grew from bad to worst. Ciccone, who had been experimenting with a rap recording at a studio in Inkster, MI, decided to publicly attack his sister with a tense and bitter track on his debut album.
